Lawrence J. Hogan, Jr. is the founder, President and CEO of the Hogan Companies. Mr. Hogan is also a principal in The Hogan Group, Homebuyer Solutions, Inc., Home Builder Solutions, LLC, Hogan Investments, Hogan Development, Hogan Holding Companies, Integrity Partners, LLC, and Investors Development Group, Inc.

He has been in the real estate business since 1982, and has been involved in more than one billion dollars in real estate transactions. He has provided real estate services for such groups as the American Red Cross, American University, the General Services Administration, the Resolution Trust Corporation and the Nature Conservatory as well as hundreds of national, regional and local developers, builders, investors and other companies.

Mr. Hogan has been active in the National Association of Homebuilders, the National Association of Realtors and numerous other national regional and local organizations. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association, the Chamber of Commerce, the Homebuilders Care Foundation, and on the Board of Advisors for the University of Maryland, Graduate Program for Commercial Real Estate.

In addition to real estate and business, Mr. Hogan has been involved in government and politics. He recently served as a cabinet member for Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., serving four years as Maryland's Secretary of Appointments. As Appointments Secretary, he was responsible for the appointment of nearly seven thousand people to positions in Maryland's Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches including the appointment of members of the Cabinet, judges, legislators, regulators, and administrators throughout State Government. Secretary Hogan's appointments were credited with making the Ehrlich Administration the most bipartisan, most inclusive, and most diverse administration in Maryland history. As a member of the Governor's inner circle, he played a major role in managing a $30 billion a year, 60,000 employee enterprise.

Mr. Hogan previously worked for Prince George's County Government, and for the U.S. House of Representatives. He was elected to represent Maryland as a Delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1976, 1980, 1984 and 1988. In 1992, he was the Republican Nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives and won four out of five counties in Maryland's 5th Congressional District.

A graduate of Florida State University, Mr. Hogan lives in Annapolis with his wife Yumi, an artist and vocalist. They have three daughters and are active in many volunteer civic and charitable organizations.
